CREEL liaises closely with the Australian Mining and Petroleum Law Association Limited (AMPLA) at both national and State branch levels.
It also liaises closely with the Resources Law Committee of the Business Law Section, Law Council of Australia.
CREEL maintains links with several government organisations. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and the National Competition Council (NCC) each support CREEL's teaching program concerning the deregulation of the electricity and gas industries. Similar support is obtained from the Office of the Regulator-General in Victoria. The National Native Title Tribunal (NNTT) supports CREEL's program concerning native title.
In the international arena, CREEL works closely with the Section on Energy and Natural Resources Law ('SERL') of the International Bar Association. Professors Crommelin and Williamson are members of the Academic Advisory Group in the Section. In 1998 Professor Williamson contributed to the SERL Biennial Conference program in Cape Town, and in 2000 Professor Triggs contributed to the corresponding program in Hong Kong.
CREEL also maintains contact with leading resources centres in the USA (Colorado), Canada (Vancouver and Calgary) and United Kingdom (Dundee). One of CREEL's objectives for the near future is to strengthen existing contacts, and in addition to develop new relationships in the Asia/Pacific region.
