Other Activities

From 1996 to 1999 the primary focus has been upon building up a comprehensive teaching and research program dealing with contemporary legal, regulatory and policy issues that are vital to effective participation in national, regional and indeed global resource developments. The aim of CREEL's program has been to establish a storehouse of practical knowledge, and to provide access to a wide range of educational resources.

CREEL has conducted a program of public seminars, both alone and in conjunction with other organisations. Recent topics have included energy deregulation and access, petroleum developments in the Zone of Co-operation with Indonesia, the legal nature of mineral and petroleum titles, and a succession of seminars on native title issues. In addition, CREEL associates have presented papers at a wide range of conferences arranged by professional and commercial organisations.

CREEL currently arranges and participates in conferences, seminars, interest group discussions, and in-house programs. It also liaises with industrial, professional, academic and governmental organisations in Australia and overseas.
