Most subjects are presented in an intensive five day format. This facilitates attendance by students from interstate and overseas. Typically, class size is limited to 25-30 students. This promotes close teacher-student contact in a seminar-style setting. Classes normally include a mix of lecturing, discussion, case-studies and workshop exercises, backed up by substantial printed materials provided to students in advance of the course, and in many cases visual aides (such as Powerpoint presentations) during class sessions. Further reading materials that are otherwise difficult to obtain may be collected and made available at the Law School's Legal Resource Centre following the course, to assist in preparation of research papers. In some cases electronic material is placed upon restricted access on a subject web-site. References are increasingly being given to material publicly available in electronic form.
